Newspaper Article.
"Henry Johnson's first appearance in the area was in 1834 when he married mary Ann Hoss, daughter of John Hoss, whose father, Jacob was one of the earliest residents having settled in the eastern part of town around 1788."
The "town" (Johnson City) was not founded until after Henry Johnson and Abraham Jobe got there in around 1834. She might be talking about the area rather than the "town". Or, maybe she is speaking of a different town. There was not much there in 1788. It was probably part of North Carolina then. This newspaper article might be dated Nov 22, 1969.
